My son made one out of a five gallon bucket and hung it from a tree limb we live in Florida he sent me a picture of it yesterday it is the biggest tomato plant I have ever seen with tomatoes all over it and a few are starting to get pretty big. he's 25 and starting to really love gardening.

Didn't get any luck

Last year we planted a topsy turvy and while we did water it often and it was in the sun we didn't have good luck with the results. the tomato's we did get were small.

Make them yourself - easy!

My mom always made hers from gallon milk jugs and water jugs. Cut the bottom open, punch holes in the edge to attach your hanger (wire, chain, wire hangers, twine, whatever you like.) Use coffee filters at the open spout end where the plant comes out to keep in the dirt. She got nice tomatoes and no cutworms!

Made One Also

The wife and I made one from a burlap bag with a tomato cage placed inside of it for rigidity. We hung it from a tree limb. So far, so good. It's too early yet to give a better review of our homemade one.
