Busy Bee on a Summer Day

Busy Bee on a Summer Day

Sorry about that folks, I forgot to upload the picture!

I just wanted to share this with all the nature lovers here. I will be submitting more photos of the flowers in my garden (once I get it started) and other from around my little neighborhood. If someone could, let me know what flower this little be is on. I don't know anything about flowers other than basis and that is negligible.

Salvia rather than Lavender
by: Moni

Danny
Looking at the flower again esp in light of the bee vs fly issue and photo quality. It might be the annual blue salvia rather than lavender the flower head looks similar. However as I look at the individual flower that may be salvia. The salvia plant has foliage that is wider at the stem then tapers to a point. The Lavender foliage is very narrow and silvery gray/green...and very fragrant. Hope that helps.
Where did you get the plant? Do you know if it is perennial(stays around all year)? I do not know the weather situation where you are in CA, do you get frost? Frost would kill annual salvia but not lavender.
You might Google these flowers and see what you think.

Thanks for the comment.

Actaully that is a honey bee. Unfortunately the reduction of the photo takes away from the closeness of the actual photo itself. But I can see how you would see that. :-)

Flower fly on Lavender
by: Moni

Looks like flower flies or hover flies on lavender flowers to me.
