pre-emergent weed control in bulbs

Will a pre-emergent (preen) prevent the growth of bulbs, corms or tubers and for how long is it effective against such?

Doug says that the active ingredient in Preen is Trifluralin. This is NOT organic and I would not recommend you use this material.

Should you decide to poison your property (it's carcinogenic and doesn't degrade in the soil very quickly) , then let me suggest you read the label for directions. If the plant in question is not on the label, then it is illegal (not to mention really, really stupid) to use the product for this use.

Why not use a simple organic solution such as corn gluten if all you want to do is stop grass seed and other small weed seed from germinating?
