OK MON, winter landscaping 'No Way', an 1st in Can..
by: Kannutipper

Well, I don't know how you could improve, on such an lovel set of little ponds, to bad they freeze up, for [6] month's, there in Canada you say. Look's just fine, the water, [HOH] or H2O, run's fine, no chlorine there buddy.
It, [that hill] must be 15 ft. high, to be an [old-age-security, rather safety danger], you could alway's wear an hockey helmet, when working up there, at such artificial heights, for an octagarian.
But, I know about this cut back thing, you seem to be into, lower profile, lower footprint, easier to manage concept. I'll do that around, 2030, we can diss about it then.
If you have an reader, they might not, as the Olympics doth say mode: I Believe, Do You Believe.
Without, an bonafide picture, submitted here, soon....NOT I, EH!
Like, Before and After. At least we have the former to dwell on, the After is month's away huh..But, meantime, you did blast something, off the face, of that place, it must undulate.
Maybe you, should old duffer, stick to the 'potting shed', NOW..."that's an place, where those neighbour's, don't have to know nothing". What you do in the 'potting shed', is YOUR BUSINESS.
By, By....Mr. Snowman.

TRI-Pond's, [another-picture] to change forever!
by: wkeithscott

Dear Kannu:
It's been in here for 30 years, this little TRI-Pond element of our garden, and I've never regretted, nor showed it off much. I've made 'an design error'.
At the acme, the highest point of this little triage of pond's, made up, and great beginning's called, an cataract-water-fall. It is an very high garden elevation, and that aspect is out of proportion, Only last week, in an 'weather break, and really no snow about, why doesn't 'everyone do garden landscaping, digging, midwinter dreams.
I managed somehow to eradicate, demolish, and cart away, JUnk Boy's help, some 5 tonnes of old debris, clearing away, an segement of, 'the hill'.
There is not much else to report, except now the 'picture you requested changes dramatically', for the pond is mostly gone. Another start of another dream, is up for grab's.
This 'midwinter's' landscaping 'an first, project', surely my good neighbour's, must wonder about all the banging/clanging about it all. I guess the crux of the story, don't build your little ponds, or projects, out of 'scale' in size, height, breadth to the overall garden planning. You, will live to regret it, or you might not live long enough to change it, I've covered most of that...but not all of that, we shall see later.
Now back to the Olympic games, where in my mind anyway, they are all winner's. Just to get that 'far' in their accomplishments, even in their error's, they are winner's too!
For, Yes there is Gold there as well.
Mine, is on the Hill! Yet your's is where. Tell us about it, for I have nothing, but to wait, and watch, and plan..the better than, Gold on the Hill, and my remains
Keep digging.

Pond's vs Kannu
by: wkeithscott

POND'S STAY ON, AND ON. Just rub a dub.
your KANNU, natch need's an paddler.
But, I'm always commenting for 'fun', on Little tri-ponds, because they are just that, like you, always changing scenes.
Whereas, one looks constantly at an pond, from different views.
The Paddler, looks out from the 'Kannu', to changing views.
Uniquely, the former is the your focal urban garden, the latter you, Kannu focusing in the changing, 'natures garden'.
So, the 'expert in the garden or pond', has much in common, with those who insist on, nature's greater garden.
There is work for both to do, and sometimes, I think the small little gardener, like I, 'ponder, simply tries, too much duplicate the other.
We have this in an common journey, heading home! Yes, I'm looking for another picture, of both...

Tri-Little Ponds First
by: wkeithscott

HI Kannu: Do 'U' like water or not, as in ?. Were 'U' in the canoe, when the canoe tipped over? [why mispel]...
In this gardener's blog, there is no method for an second or third related picture, it would be so helpful, as before/after an small project, the future remains more perfect. For my handwork, is never so.
But, they say an, [presume any pic] is worth an 300 words, if, so be it. Most pond area's, I've noticed, are on level-terra-firma, that is understandable, hence more 'natural looking'.
I merely, & merrily now, elevated it so, as to try & capture...another element, for where does the water fall-off, [hence an possible cascading cataract], the likes of which you, 'woodsy canoe-kannu'.
If that doesn't make sense, neither would my other pictures, of the 'upper area of this woodsey, feature of my back 40-garden, extraordinaire.
Sorry, for in the design aspect, the water elements, were not the main feature's, rather an 'woodsy' effect, with many planting, maturing bush's, sumach, yew's, twin pine's, etc etc.
So, that even in ernest, it takes 'an long time' to survey this 'little place', everything sort of is done in '3's'. Three little pond's, 3 little pump's for inadvertent water circulating, 3 bush's, and et al. Keep's an guy very busy, back there, even moderating the 'water level, and flow, against water loss, and other thing's of error. It's quite an challenge
Sort of like arbitrage in another familiarfield, but here an trade off of pleasure of keeping things to-gether, adjusting, clipping, cleaning up, versus my 'safety', falling off the darn, elevated thing of my fancy.
Hence, it's not like your, 'Kannu', in the water, the cataract at all, the only similarity...is the water depth, and we 'both' can 'fall-over'. You get your tookus wet, I bang my tookus hard on, the 'rock in the cataract', is alway's an danger.
Bigger question, can we handle the 'wrox', and paddle about, 4-score or not, we shall see, an little later.
In an manner of speaking, maybe 'our Don', here will allow some more flexibility, in paddling about the Pond section, Kannu eh!
An crazy canuck, gardener say!
Maybe, an paddle, an picture another day, mostly I'm about, an 'potting shed', this day, try that utensil, eh!

TRI-Pond's, what & where et al!
by: kannutipper

Hey Scotty Canuck: In the pond-amuck eh! Not an bad, 'urban idea' for an small plot. But it's hard to imagine, the setting, this 'pic' is an bit toooo small, re: lateral parameter's.
Do you have an 'shot' step back, in an broader setting, is there foilage, tree's, mature-plantings to compensate for all the 'muskoka rocks', on rocky hill. An good name for an 'Shania T. next C/W hit.
Serious, an better view would help inspire me. Are there are fish about's here, if so only in one pond, if what so for protection, from critters. Are all pond's, same size, I presume not, what is the upper waterfall, made of, it's 'unique eh'.
You need insurance, to climb that thing, isit electrified, ac/dc for lights pumps, for hobbysts, or contractors, big demand for this kind of thing. Maybe your ahead of your tiny-tim-waterfall time huh. Await! Small pond's mean inconvenient fish storage, if so what/where/how.
