Late Planting Roses in Zone 5

by Susan
(Durango, CO)

Is it too late in Zone 5 (Durango, CO - 6500 ft) to plant a Dr. Griffith Buck rose and had it established enough to survive winter?

Thanks, Susan

Doug says that it is fine to plant roses now - you can plant this woody plant in your zone right up to the end of October and it should be fine for the winter. Enjoy the Buck roses - fine hardy types that I've enjoyed for years.
