This is the original site from when I used to give gardening tips through my specialist greenhouse and nursery - I loved the idea of "Simple Gifts" so much, I kept it when I became a full time garden writer and use it for helping people by writing gardening articles and sharing information.
Tis a gift to be simple. Tis a gift to be free.
Tis a gift to come down where we ought to be.
And when we find ourselves in a place just right
T'will be in the valley of love and delight.
I'm Doug Green, a semi-retired nurseryman who used to produce 1600 varieties of perennials and 6-800- varieties of annuals every spring in his nursery and garden center. I stopped doing that to write and have written 8 paper books and a growing number of e-books. Not to mention about 6000 pages of articles and pictures on my websites.
You can find a bunch of stuff by clicking on the "More Topics" button in the top right hand corner of the page or going to the very bottom and the search box to hunt down exactly what you need to know.
And if you can't find what you want, you're going to find Q&A forms on many of the main pages where you can both ask questions and help others.
I hope I can help you have a better garden - thanks for visiting
Doug
