How to Keep Dirty Water from Potted Plants from Ruining Deck

I can't find an answer to my question anywhere so please help me! We just installed a new pool deck and I want to surround it with beautiful, flowering potted plants. However, I don't want the dirty water to run out of the bottom of my pot onto my new decking when I water the plants. I've tried putting plastic trays underneath the pots, but they just fill up with nasty water. Is there a solution to my problem that I'm just not seeing? Thank you so much for your help.

Doug says if your saucers are collecting water - then all you have to do is stop watering. You're watering too much! The water should "just" run out the bottom of the pot every time you water. The water in the saucer will be absorbed back into the pot as the soil in the pot dries. Just try not to do this too often (let the pot sit in the water) - watch the watering (only water when the soil is dry to the touch).
