Green Worms in Roses

I have a bed of hardy roses, there are many(Mordens, Frontenac , Wpg. Parks) have many leaves that have turned light beige spolotches and the leaves wither up,the Wpg. Parks has lost all its leaves while we were away last week . I removed all the diseased leaves to burn and found a small green worm on them. From your e-mail book it says to use a strong water spray , we have just had a heavy rain a couple of days ago thought that should do the trick but should I still spray them or should I purchase insecticidale soap to spray them?

Doug says - rain isn't the same as a strong jet of water by a long shot. And you'll have much more luck with rotenone or insecticidal soap controlling this pest than with a spray jet of water.

Question re little green worms
by: Alicia

Where do they hide? In the ground? I see lots of holes on the leaves, but very few green worms!
They must go somewhere. Do they come out and eat at night?
