Flame lily

(Cape Town, South Africa)

Apparently the Flame Lily was the national flower of Zimbabwe Africa. A friend gave me a present of a few bulbs when I had to move from my glorious home & garden to a small rented place. She thought these would cheer me up! And they have.

Weed

Rofl... I can't get RID of that stuff in my yard, so Karen don't fret about transplanting. I have jerked that stuff up by the roots and it still comes back. I finally gave up, but now am glad of it, because the hummingbirds love it.

Flame lily......

I had one of these plants grow in my yard last year. I am not a gardener so this isn't something I planted myself. It is the most beautiful flower I have seen...I thought it was a weed. Then it was gone after only about 2-3 weeks. NOW I notice there are about 7 plants starting to grow within a distance of about 2 feet. One is already showing the start of buds...I was wondering if they are poisonous or how well they transplant. If someone could help me I'd appreciate it. Karen, Florida
