Echinacea Monarch

by GardenJoy

There are so many pictures of butterflies on flowers .... you would think we would be bored of them .. but NOT ! This is the first year, in 8 years, that we have had so many Monarchs in the garden. We are truly thrilled to see them. So , YES ! another butterfly picture : )

Butterfly Identification Correction
by: Joy

Thank you so much for letting me know my "OOPS !" on the identification of this butterfly. I wasn't sure and took a stab thinking it was a junior , still painting its wings yet ? I went to the site you directed me to and WOW ! what abeautiful picture of that Red Admiral !
Thanks again !
Joy : )

The Monarch is an Admiral
by: Donalda

What a great picture you captured of this little butterfly. This creature is very difficult to photograph because of it's flight pattern. It seldom rests for more than a few seconds. The butterfly is , however , not a Monarch as stated in the story. It is a Red Admiral. You can check it out here.
