Do ladybugs eat black aphids?

by Rose

I know ladybugs eat green aphids, but do they also eat black aphids? I have a huge infestation of black aphids and am anxious to control them without chemicals, but I can't find any information that says that ladybugs eat black aphids. I have found this type of aphid particularly difficult to control.

Doug says that Ladybugs must be color-blind because they don't make a distinction between aphids based on color. They're equal-opportunity predators. :-)
