cutting and rooting rose bush clippings

I've tried to do this several times with no success. Do you have any info and picture of where to clip the cutting, and then what to put it in to get it to root?
I have found a rose bush that is the most beautiful (to me) that I have ever seen, and have been given permission to get a clipping. As close as I can determine, it a type of Josephs Coat. I just cannot find a picture of it exactly, and the staff of the local nursery didn't have a clue. I really hope you can help me. Thanks in advance.
Doug says there's an old article up here on rose cuttings from soft wood Hard wood cuttings are treated the same way as per any woody hardwood cutting and those instructions are found in the propagation section.
Goodl luck and enjoy the plant. :-)
