controlling strawberry plants

how would I go about getting rid of wild strawberry plants that vine everywhere in my flower bed? How did they get there?

Doug says that weed control in flower beds is an ongoing effort. The problem of course is that there is no one safe chemical that can kill only the weeds and not the flowers.

So you're left with hand-weeding to control and eliminate them.

And then mulch to stop any seeds from germinating.

But bottom line - as long as you have flowers in that bed, any spray you use will kill flowers too.

So get out the hoe, cultivator tools and/or get down on your knees with a cultivator. A bit a day will work wonders in a short time.

not recommending chemicals

Sorry - don't understand your question - I'm not recommending chemicals to kill strawberries - you might want to try asking it as a new question under the category weeds. But please be specific about what you need to know.
