Compost Tea Pump
I will ask you a question about compost tea. Could I use a pump that sits right in the water, I guess it is called a fountain pump in place of an aquarium pump?

You can use it but it will likely plug up with the small particles of compost within hours or even minutes.
Even if you put your compost into a bag, small enough bits escape to plug up those small fountain pumps.
