compost quantity
I have a 3-bin system, and turn the compost twice a year. The stuff is great, but pitifully inadequate in volume for the gardens I have. Everything goes in it - kitchen veg waste, weeds, shredded paper, sod from creating new beds, garden debris (except iris and rose) and except cut grass because I don't do the lawn and can't manage collecting it. Any suggestions for getting enough for the gardens?
Doug says that if you can't produce enough compost, then use some of it to make compost tea. That way, you get all the microorganism benefits of the compost. You will have to find a way to get some organic matter onto your gardens but you can do that in any number of ways (from leaves to peat moss)
