can i put cat litter/waste into compost? i use a litter that's 100% corn, no clay or additives.

Doug says NO. Cat and dog excretia do not belong in the compost bin. I know of no expert who recommends this. It's not the litter - it's the waste itself. Don't.

PATHOGENS SURVIVE
by: Anonymous

I've never used dog or cat excrement. Supposedly any excrement that comes from a meat eating animal does not belong in home compost piles. Their feces can contain pathogens (like salmonella and e.coli) that can survive the heat of compost piles and then of course end up in your garden where they may cause you problems.
