Burying beetle

Your insect looks like a carrion beetle called burying beetle. Carrion beetles, Family Silphidae, feed on dead animals. The burying beetles, Genus Nicrophorus, in this family will excavate the soil out from under the dead animal so it falls into the cavity. This is then the food source for its larvae. They usually live in woodland and other areas. The adults come to lights.
Since you are in the Philipines, I am not sure what species you have. However, knowing frogs in the U.S. live in woodlands and sit on front porches near lights at night, I could see how a frog could have eaten one!
Hope you can find a source for Nicrophorus species of the Philipines. I would suggest you send your photo to Bugguide since there are many folks that know many insects worldwide that might be able to ID your insect to species. Though that site is hosted by Iowa State Univ, many help with identification.
Here is the site for Nicrophorus - follow the Help link to get your photo identified more precisely. http://bugguide.net/node/view/4954/bgimage?from=0
Good luck with your thesis!
