This border lines both sides of my front walk. Each year I do a different color scheme. This year I chose the cool purple with whites and silvers. The plants include supertunias, purple feather grass, sweet allysum and coleus.

Celebration Gardens 2009 August
by Barbara
(Corning, CA, USA)
Our gardens take up about 2 acres and I was walking one day with the camera and just stopped and shot this. It shows one lawn with the center fountain and flowers then you look beyond and see the larger garden with the arbor. We started this garden in 1998 and it's still not finished! We just keep changing things and adding new plants.

Sad to see them go :(
by Tamara

Hummer 2
Just another picture of hummers...I have 6 feeders and filled them all twice this summer...little piggies. My neighbors often accuse me of stealing the hummingbirds. I say, "You feed all the rest of the birds and I will feed the hummers." Sad to see them leaving on the great migration. :(

Colorful caterpillar
by Carla
(Grand Rapids, Mi. U.S.A.)
I plant milk weed pods in with my flowers! I love the seed pods in the fall, the "silk" is as soft as kittens! Plus the milk weed does have a flower and pleasant smell. As we know, the Monarch butterfly needs the milkweed, its what makes the butterfly poisonous to birds. I've found the tiny eggs and even the caterpillars, but have yet to find a crysalis.
