Stop and smell the roses.

Stop and smell the roses.

I love the color of this rose that is blooming in my garden. I don't know it's name but there are always a lot of roses in bloom.

I'll try to get more photos this year as it grows and blooms. I'll post them as I get them.

TO BERNICE

Hi Bernice
You are obviously a good photographer. If you would really like to know what this rose is, you could post more pictures when it is in bloom this year. It still won't be easy to I.D. for certain. There are quite a number of superficially similar roses.

How about a picture of the whole bush next time it is in bloom? One from the side of the WHOLE rose flower too?....A bud?, a half open one, and a full open one would be even better if you have the time.

With enough pictures and an idea of the size of the flowers and the size of the bush, variations in colour etc. I may be able to make a pretty good educated guess. It looks on the orange side in this picture (on my computer)....colours are such tricky things and so often show up other than as we see them. They also vary on the rose, depending on its stage of growth and even where it is being grown.

Right now, (with not enough information), I would say it looks like a dead ringer for "Glowing Peace". You will find a picture quite similar to yours at this address http://www.northlandrosarium.com (located in Spokane). Just do a search through their on-line catalogue and see what you think.

There is another picture of this same rose that just happens to grace the cover of my recently purchased 2007 soft cover edition of Ortho All About Roses. $16.95 mostl likely at your local book store.

That doesn't mean it couldn't be something completely different....more pictures please!!!

what a beauty!

What a great photo of this incredible rose. I love the colour of the rose and contrast on the tips of the petals - just gorgeous!
I also appreciate the photography - the crispness of the photo, the light and the shadows on the petals - great capture...you just want to put your nose up to this baby and take in the aroma.

This rose was in my yard when I moved in. It is a very old plant and it smells heavenly. I've managed to keep it alive for the past five years.

Gorgeous Rose

Such frustration....If it will do well in Osoyoos it will probably do well in Kamloops!...I have been stewing over which rose to add to my garden this spring....and I love the colour of this one. Does it smell as good as it looks?
